Minimum rates are as follows:
The rates are charged not only for the time of the actual shoot but for the total time expended by the photographer or his staff on behalf of the client, including, but not limited to, time for briefing, planning, pre-production, preparation, travel, waiting, checking and cleaning of equipment, post-production, editing, finishing and de-briefing. A full day consists of eight working hours, and a half day of four working hours, except for advertising photography where the hours are ten and five respectively.
After Hours: Rate + 50% Sundays and Public Holidays: Rate +100%

PHOTOGRAPHS SUPPLIED AS STOCK IMAGES (NOT COMMISSIONED)
The following rates are for digital stock images supplied. This rate applies to images that are not specifically commissioned, and are rates per image supplied (only) to the editorial market, the rate is based on the size in which the final image will be used in any publication.

Cover: from R 1 750.00 each DPS: from R 900.00 each Full page (A4): from R 650.00 each Half page (A5) or < FP: from R 550.00 each Quarter page & smaller: from R 450.00 each
PHOTOGRAPHIC BASE USAGE RATES (BUR)
Ownership, copyright and terms of usage will be negotiated prior to commencement of any project.
A BUR rate is a combination of the photographer’s overheads and creative fee and is limited by time constraints. BUR rates apply to all photographic work commissioned by clients, is based on images for use in RSA only and per editorial edition. Please enquire about international usage and re-usage license rates.
Half-day rates are charged at 55% of full day rate. Use of an assistant if required at the photographer’s discretion will be charged at a fee of 15% of BUR.

*by-line = all photographer credit (copyright) must be displayed together with the photo - regardless of where or how the image/s is/are displayed.
Rates are based on normal business hours 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.
The BUR prices are based on the supply of photographic images not including material costs, which will be quoted separately as required. These charges are based on use of the photographs in RSA only. All other costs related to the shoot are not included.
RATES FOR THE SUPPLY OF DIGITAL IMAGES (Digitally processed, un-retouched)
Digital capture fee (DCF) R165.00 per capture
The rates to supply and burn disks and to upload to a FTP server cover the material supply, use of the equipment (hardware and software), the operator’s time, related costs and other overheads.
Supply of final image CD R165.00 per CD Supply of final image DVD R275.00 per DVD Upload to FTP server R2.20 per MegaByte
Retouching fee
A retouching fee covers the repro operator’s time, equipment and other overheads.
Retouching should only be done by operators qualified to do so. Photographers do not always retouch their own work unless they are repro trained and are qualified to do so.
Photographers who shoot digitally hand over processed un-retouched image to repro for retouching.
Pre & post production retouching R350.00 per hour or part thereof.
